Margaret Myers Genealogy
Record modified: 2011-08-19
This is my direct ancestor 6 generations back.
Born: about 1767-00-00 Maryland USA
Died: 1846-01-03 Washington Co, Pennsylvania USA
Marriages:
1. Jacob Zentz
Children of Margaret Myers and Jacob Zentz:
Notes:
After Jacob died she married Jonathan Casebeer 1752-05-12 Oley Hills PA d 1839-06-11.
Some genealogy sites say she was the mother of Jonathan's children, but that is wrong. They were all
born before she married him.

Why does she not mention her sons Peter and Christian?
Christian was married before his father died, so maybe he got his inheritance then. But Peter wasn't
married yet, and it seems likely that Margaret at age 37 was.
She doesn't mention son Jacob II, because he died soon after his marriage. Margaret's grandson Israel
was Jacob II's son.
I'm sure there was a Peter, and that he was alive when Margaret died, because George's son Henry had an Uncle Peter who moved to near Centerville IA in the 1850s. (And see his notes.)
I'm not sure there was a son Christian, though it would be easy to believe since it looks like Jacob had
an uncle Christian. There is a Christian Zentz in Blair Co PA who most likely is Jacob's son. (see his notes)
I think Jacob and Margaret must have first moved from MD to Huntingdon Co PA, where their older
children were married. They then moved west to Washington Co with George and Peter, who later
continued west to OH.

Jonathan Casebere 1 M 20-30, 1 M 70-80, 1 F 15-20, 1 F 40-50, 1 F 60-70
[John Zentz? or George Zentz 18?, Jonathan 78, x, Margaret? 41, Margaret 63ish]
There's a pretty good chance George is already in OH, so the young male is more likely John.
Her grandson Israel, who should be 14, should be living with her. Is he the youngest male, mis-marked?
[Jonathan's youngest son was born 1794, so the young male is not his son.]
If the middle woman is Margaret's daughter Margaret, the youngest woman could be her daughter. For that matter, the young male could be her son. I haven't been able to find a Nosker family that could contain Margaret; maybe her husband died soon after they married.
Jonathan seems to have had three daughters the age of the middle female. Trees at Ancestry.com seem to rule out two of them.
